15. CrimeTime: Free Fall
Description:
In CrimeTime: Freefall, Hadley Warner (played by Lyndie Greenwood) was the leading lady on a popular prime-time procedural, but when the show ends she moves with her kids from L.A. to the small town where her mother lives. While trying to figure out her next career move, she becomes involved in a murder investigation when a dead body is found in the tree outside her new home. Using the skills she acquired on her show, she begins sleuthing, much to the chagrin of the handsome local detective Shawn Caden (played by Luke Macfarlane.)
Why we love it:
It’s always fun to watch an actor character “play” detective and Hadley Warner was enchanting. We enjoyed watching the culture shock that her family experienced with their big move (and Hadley’s difficulty remembering that she no longer has an assistant) that is complicated by the arrival of a dead body.
The town is super cute and a place we wish we could visit. We love the trivia nights there and the eccentric characters (including loud goats!) there.
We enjoyed seeing the parallels between the show where Hadley performed and her real life, and we enjoyed seeing how the twists of this mystery played out.

Walker) visits Malta while researching a project and a chance encounter with a local beekeeper (played by Margaret Clunie) leads to the discovery of an ancient fresco. With this as a starting point, they follow the historic clues on a search to uncover an ancient golden treasure.
Why we love it:
This mystery is missing a dead body, but is still a lot of fun. With excellent chemistry between the pair and a tone of Indiana Jones jokes, its a fun puzzle near the beautiful Maltese countryside. This mystery is as sweet as the bee’s honey.

Description:
In A Sprinkle of Deceit, baker Hannah Swensen (played by Alison Sweeney) and new potential partner D.A. Chad Norton (played by Victor Webster) team up to find the real killer when their friend and colleague becomes the prime suspect in a murder case.

12. Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery
Description:
In Jazz Ramsey: A K-9 Mystery, K-9 trainer Jazz (played by Rachel Skarsten) visits a school for her a forensic demonstration. When her crime detective dog Zeus discovers a dead body and her ex-boyfriend detective Nick (played by Corey Sevier) becomes the lead investigator, Jazz begins her own search for clues.
Why we love it:
Of course, the main reason we love this mystery is because of the canines! Zeus was adorable on screen and was a very good boy for finding clues. We also enjoyed how personal this case was for Jazz when it appears her former teacher has been murdered, her best friend is a prime suspect, and her ex is the detective on the case.
11. Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit
Description:
In Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit, Goldy Berry (played by Nikki Deloach) and Detective Shultz (played by Andrew W. Walker) finally go on an official date! However, when a member of the band they are seeing perform is electrocuted, they need to do what they do best together - investigate.
Why we love it:
Even though the date didn’t go as planned, we loved seeing this duo finally go out and see a glimpse of Tom’s life out-of-work. The setting and intrigue of the band added to the mystery and made following this case a lot of fun.
10. The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening
Description:
Movie #2 in the Cases of Mystery Lane series
In The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening, married couple Birdie (played by Aimee Garcia) and Alden (played by Paul Campbell) Case have reconnected over their love of solving mysteries, nerdy habits, and true crime podcasts. Though they worry about whether they are not truly listening to one another and their attempted friendship with Officer Newton (played by Matt Hamilton) still seems rocky, they work together to solve the murder of one of their favorite podcast hosts.
Why we love it:
Like in the first movie, we love seeing a couple work to overcome their marital problems while solving murders. Their hobbies and their love for one another were fun to watch and their enthusiasm for investigating was infectious. The mix of a potential serial killer on the loose and the zany suspects made for an exciting mystery.
9. Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home
Description:
In Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home, newly widowed former Army surgeon Rachel (played by Amanda Schull) returns home and joins a practice of family doctors. However, when she's drawn into solving the mysterious death of a patient, her return to a normal life is threatened. With the help of a handsome detective (played by Brendan Penny), she seeks answers.
Why we love it:
We love watching Rachel help people in so many ways in this movie, whether it’s a veteran in need, a patient who needs care, or a murder victim who needs justice. We like the more serious approach to the mystery and how deciding whether to get a pet comes into play.
8. Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 for Murder

In Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 for Murder, Detroit Free Press tipline operator, Maddie Moore (played by Holland Roden) follows up on a cryptic call about a planned jewelry store robbery. When the jewel theft results in murder, Maddie insists on helping newly appointed Detective Beeks (played by Chris McNally.)

However, when a murder occurs and her childhood friend is blamed, Nelly is put to the test trying to find the real killer and stay on the new detective’s (played by Kavan Smith) good side.
Why we love it:
The fast-paced dialogue and homages to yesteryear, reminded us of classics like “My Girl Friday.” It was silly, but it worked within this universe of Babbleton. We loved nosy Nelly’s insanely upbeat attitude and the kitten cameo.
However, what we liked best about this movie was the mystery. We fell for the red herrings and loved learning who the real killer was!
6. Crimes of Fashion: Killer Clutch
Description:
In Crimes of Fashion: Killer Clutch, American fashion psychologist Lauren Elliott (played by Brooke D'Orsay) is recruited by her French friend Charlotte Gauthier (played by Paloma Coquant) to help renowned fashion designer Virgil St-James (played by François Legrand) at Parisian fashion show. However, when Charlotte is accused of murder, Lauren must use her psychological insights to expose the real killer. Though the French detective (played by Olivier Raynal) on the case is initially annoyed by her intrusion, he becomes charmed by her tenacity.
Why we love it:
What makes this mystery so fun is seeing the world of Parisian high fashion. It’s as enjoyable to see the French landmarks as the outrageous dresses. It also ups the stakes to see how the French justice system differs from the USA and how this puts Lauren’s BFF in more trouble.
While Lauren’s French language skills are lacking (“Merci! Bonjour!”), her sleuthing skills are spot on.
5. A Hannah Swensen Mystery: One Bad Apple

However, when an explosion and a murder occur on campus, Hannah needs to use her sleuth skills. While verbally sparring with the new D.A. Chad Norton (played by Victor Webster), Hannah searches for evidence of who is behind these crimes.
Why we love it:
We love seeing another love triangle develop and seeing Hannah’s family in action to support her clearing her name. Delores’s new exploits made us chuckle and, of course, we loved seeing the desserts. (Those who are fans of the book series probably enjoy seeing who is selected as the victim!)
4. Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers

In Gilded Newport Mysteries: Murder at the Breakers, the year is 1895 and Emma Vanderbilt-Cross (played by Ali Skovbye) is a reporter for the women's pages of the Newport Observer. Detective Jesse Whyte (played by Danny Griffin) might be considered an ally, but it’s harder to tell the motives of a handsome new stranger in town (played by Nathan Witte.)
Why we love it:
This mystery is a fun period piece and we love watching Emma push against societal norms as she ponders her writing aspirations and then fights for justice. Signed, Sealed, Delivered fans (POstables) will enjoy seeing Geoff Gustafson as Emma’s boss at the newspaper. We also enjoyed seeing a possible love triangle form around Emma as she considers if marriage even is the best choice for her future.

Movie # 4 in the Curious Caterer series
In Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans, Goldy Berry (played by Nikki Deloach) is catering a medieval feast at Hyde Castle when the festivities are interrupted by a murder. Eager to help Detective Shultz (played by Andrew W. Walker) and find the killer before anyone else can get hurt, she discovers secret passages, motives, and more of about Detective Shultz’s family.
Why we love it:
We love seeing Goldy and Detective Shultz’s relationship grow and how the detective’s backstory with his father plays out. The medieval costumes and castle setting are a delight to watch. Not only that - but we loved all the facets of this mystery.
2. Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters
Description:
Movie # 14 In the Signed, Sealed, Delivered series
In Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters, Oliver (played by Eric Mabius) and Shane (played by Kristin Booth) return from their honeymoon as Norman (played by Geoff Gustafson) and Rita (played by Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe) look to adopt a baby. While they navigate their changing personal lives, the continue their work in the Dead Letter Office, seeking clues to properly deliver the last three letters in a set that were nearly destroyed as the result of a bomb scare. While investigating, they discover that the letters have a personal impact on them and their friend Charley (played by Rhiannon Fish).
Why we love it:
The Signed, Sealed, Delivered series is a fan favorite and we loved this installment of the POSTables’ adventures. We love seeing the relationships develop and grow with heartwarming and sometimes tear-jerking results.
We like seeing all the characters use their unique skills to unravel the mysteries of the proper recipient and how these letters had a personal connection to the team.
True Justice: Family Ties
Description:
In True Justice: Family Ties, law student Casey Barlowe (played by Katherine McNamara) searches for the killer of her estranged friend when her little brother is wrongly convicted of the murder. With the help of some old and new friends (played by Markian Tarasiuk, Alexander Nunez, Marisa McIntyre, and Sabrina Saudin), Casey searches for answers and justice.
Why we love it:
This mystery has us emotionally invested right away as Casey worried about the impending verdict in her little brother’s murder case. This movie was more emotional and a little darker than some other Hallmark mysteries, but the ensemble cast of talented and supportive friends keeps it cozy.
Liam’s undercover work is clever and sometimes funny. We also love the complicated relationship between Casey and Eli.
Another bonus - seeing Hallmark favorites Nikki Deloach (from the Curious Caterer mysteries) and Benjamin Ayres (from the Chronicle Mysteries) as mentor characters and the twists that the investigation takes.
