While navigating last minute changes to the home makeover show, Olivia finds a response to her childhood letter in a note from Santa promising she’ll meet the love of her life by Christmas Eve—and that his name will be Nick.

After meeting three incredible men named Nick, Olivia tries to figure out who her soulmate really is.

Why we love it:

This is less a mystery than some of the others, but it does have us guessing which suitor matches Santa’s clue! We love how this movie lovingly plays with rom-com tropes and delights in wanting to believe in true love and Christmas magic.


6. A Reason for the Season

The premise:

In A Reason for the Season, to earn her trust fund, Evie (played by Taylor Cole) must track down the people who saved her life the night she was born and grant each a secret Christmas wish. Enlisting the help of local attorney, Kyle (played by Kevin McGarry), Evie navigates maintaining a secret identity while searching for these good Samaritans.

As she seeks to give them each what they want, sparks fly between Evie and Kyle. Will they be able to complete the gift-giving mission together?

Why we love it:

The Christmas spirit is strong in this film, and we love seeing Evie grow as she sets out to complete her mom’s mission. With some romance and a little mystery, this is a sweet holiday watch.


5. Christmas Quest

The premise:

In The Christmas Quest, archeologist Stephanie Baxter (played by Lacey Chabert) and her language expert ex-husband Chase (played by Kristoffer Polaha) travel to Iceland at Christmastime to search for the legendary treasure of the Yule Lads. With others trying to steal the treasure, the pair find themselves swept into a thrilling adventure as they race to keep it from falling into the wrong hands all while questioning if second chances are possible.

Why we love it:

We love the archeologist /adventurer vibe amidst a wintry Christmas setting. We also love the backstory between the divorced characters and watching them decide if their love is worth a second chance.


4. Operation Nutcracker

The premise:

In Operation Nutcracker, mistakes with similar suitcases result in a priceless nutcracker being misplaced. Event planner Lottie (played by Ashley Newbrough) must assist the heir to the Warby dynasty, Tristan (played by Christopher Russell), in tracking down the antique in time for Christmas so it can be auctioned off at a charity event.

Why we love it:

We love the chemistry between the characters and the dramatic irony where the audience knows more about the nutcracker’s location that these sleuths.


3. Five Gold Rings

The premise:

In Five Gold Rings, NYC painter Audrey (played by Holland Roden) returns to her small Minnesota hometown for the holidays and is met with unexpected quest from her beloved late grandmother: find the owners of five mysterious gold rings and return them to their rightful home before Christmas morning, continuing her grandmother’s tradition.

With Christmas only nine days away, it’s an ambitious undertaking, but one Audrey won’t shy away from.

Her grandma’s note urges Audrey to team up wit her childhood friend, now private investigator, Finn O’Sullivan (played by Nolan Gerard Funk). As Audrey and Finn unravel the mystery of the missing rings’ owners, at events from gingerbread house building to a Giving Gala, the two discover how well they work together.

Why we love it:

The heartfelt quest is endearing and we love watching how this duo approaches finding the owners of these special rings and the meaning behind them. We also love seeing this relationship bloom and Audrey find her passions again.


2. The Christmas Charade

The premise:

In The Christmas Charade, a cautious librarian Whitney (played by Rachel Skarsten) who was raised by home security experts and now avoids danger except when watching it in movies, finds herself in a real-life adventure when a blind date mix-up leads her into an undercover FBI operation.

Now recruited to pose as the girlfriend of Special Agent Josh (played by Corey Sevier), she helps him track down an art thief targeting the Saint Nicholas Ruby at a charity ball on Christmas Eve.

With rising stakes, Whitney must embrace her inner action hero to save the day—and her family—just in time for Christmas.

Why we love it:

We love the humor and the heists in this movie, as well as the character arcs for the couple. Funny, heartwarming, and exciting, this is a delightful Christmas cozy mystery.
