2. Seaside Cafe Mysteries by Bree Baker
The boardwalk iced tea shop that Everly Swan opens in Charm, North Carolina is the perfect setting for a beach read. With eccentric aunts and a handsome detective in town, Everly needs to balance a new seaside business and solving murders.
3. Trouble In Paradise series by Carrie Doyle
The Caribbean island of Paraiso does indeed sound like paradise, even if takes Plum a while to agree with that. This New Yorker might arrive with an abrasive personality but we love watching her journey as much as we love reading about the delicious island food and drinks, tropical climate, and intrigue at the resort. The only issues in this serene setting are an occasional murder investigation and some serious sunburn.
4. Cat Cafe Mystery series by Cat Conte
Despite the occasional murder investigation, Daybreak Island sounds like the perfect place to relax by the sand. This location has the added perk of a cat cafe that we would love to visit.

We wish we could visit the bookshop Beach Reads that Shakespearean scholar Summer Merriweather inherits from her mother! The shop and the seaside setting of Brigid’s Island, North Carolina is perfect for a summer read. The mysteries are fun and we love seeing how snobbish Summer slowly begins to appreciate romances and cozies as much as we do.
