Why we’re excited:

Honestly, it’s hard to tell how cozy this will be, but we appreciate that it’s an homage to Golden Age Detective, Sam Spade, and love that it is a period piece. We’re willing to check out this Noir-inspired series to see Clive Owen in action.

Unhappily paired together, Faith Mitchell (played by Iantha Richardson) and Will Trent learn how to work together to catch the bad guys.

Why we’re excited:

Though it can be dark at times because of his backstory, it is very satisfying to watch Will Trent overcome his issues and showcase his genius at solving crimes. Also, we can’t get enough of Betty the Chihuahua!

This duo is completely charming and we’re glad they’re getting another season of mysteries to solve. With their hour-and-a-half runtime, these episodes make for a perfect cozy movie night.

Why we’re excited:

We loved the book and this adaptation looks sure to delight! It will be fun to see the characters come to life on screen. Since the author of the book is not stranger to cozy mysteries on TV (having created Death in Paradise), we know it will transition well. We can’t wait to see Judith’s zany antics joined by her new friends as they investigate.

We’re huge fans of this cozy mystery series and are glad to see it return! We love that Father Brown tries to save people in every sense of the word. And Season 11 promises the return of Flambeau (played by John Light.)

  1. Death and Other Details

SERIES PREMIERE

Season 1

In Death and Other Details a guest is murdered on a luxury ocean liner and Imogen Scott (played by Violett Beane) looks like the only suspect. In order to clear her name and solve this locked room mystery, she has to team up with someone she despises, the world’s greatest detective, Rufus Cotesworth (played by Mandy Patinkin).

Why we’re excited:

This series appears to pay great homage to the classic whodunits while having its own flashy fun. With a talented cast, great setup, and picturesque location, it caught our attention. And with the promise of clues in the “details”, it should be satisfying to sleuth along with the characters.
