Gardens are a source of beauty and comfort, so it’s no surprise that there are many to be found in cozy mysteries. Here are some real life public gardens that are so gorgeous we think they belong within the pages of a favorite cozy - though hopefully there won’t be a dead body there if you get the chance to visit one!

5. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

It features over 300 acres of gardens and natural spaces for guests to explore, including a Native Butterfly and Moth House, a meditation garden, Fairy House Village, Shoreline Trail, and the Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden that features ponds, woods, and themed gardens inspired by famous children’s authors from Maine.

4. Desert Botanical Garden in Arizona

This garden showcases plants from the desert and includes thousands of species of cacti, trees, and flowers. They also have a butterfly pavilion and host musical events throughout the spring.

3. Chicago Botanic Garden

This garden is spread out over 385 acres across nine islands and the shoreline of Lake Michigan. They host many events, classes, and Flower Shows, while also focusing on research and conservation.

2. Portland Japanese Garden in Oregon

Aiming to provide a peaceful experience, this garden showcases plants and water features inspired by Japan. It encompasses eight separate gardens and includes an authentic Japanese Tea House and a striking view of Mt. Hood.
