10. Murdoch Mysteries - Season 18
Murdoch Mysteries transports viewers to early 1900s Toronto, an era of groundbreaking invention, where Detective William Murdoch (played by Yannick Bisson) uses cutting-edge forensic techniques to crack the city’s most baffling murder cases. Season 18 promises plenty of "Murdochian" intrigue: a murder at a Charles Dickens convention, a bodyguard assignment that propels Murdoch into a silent film adventure, a daring attempt to stop the theft of the world’s largest ruby, and an investigation into the authenticity of a "Missing Link" skull discovered in Milton, Ontario. The season also includes a festive holiday episode celebrating society’s “misfits” and singletons.
As always, the mysteries delve into the social issues of the time, including a factory worker strike, the advent of low-income housing, competing public hydroelectric projects, and immigrants seeking to settle in Canada’s untamed wilderness. The season reaches a landmark moment with the 300th episode, where Murdoch travels to the UK to reunite with his wife, Dr. Julia Ogden (played by Helene Joy), as they celebrate their wedding anniversary.
